I do not doubt that you'll enjoy it there, it's such a fine firm. It will be a great change for you. It gives me pleasure that we are now are in the same business and in the same firm; we must correspond often. I hope I'll see you before you leave, we will have a lot to talk about. I believe that Brussels is a very nice city but it will be strange in the beginning. Write to me soon in any case . And now adieu, this is just a few words in haste, but I had to say how happy I was . Wishing you well, and believe me ever Your loving brother, Vincent I pity you having to walk every day to Oisterwijk in this beastly weather . Greetings from the family Rooses. The good news that Vincent's father had written him about was that Theo was to begin working at the Brussels branch of the art dealer Goupil & Co. on 1 January 1873. Vincent worked for the same firm at their branch in The Hague.
